Cookie Policy
Effective date: 3 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Cogni Circuit Labs Inc. ("Cogni Circuit," "we," "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on cognicircuit.life (the "Site"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes our broader personal information practices under PIPEDA and BC PIPA.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help sites function, remember preferences and, if you consent, support analytics or marketing measurement. Similar technologies include local storage entries and pixel tags; where we refer to "cookies" below, we include comparable tools unless noted otherwise.
1. Who operates this Site?
Cogni Circuit Labs Inc., BN 81263 4917 RC0001, 151 West Hastings Street, Suite 600, Vancouver, BC V6B 1H4, Canada. Privacy contact: [email protected].
2. How we use cookies
We group cookies into three categories:
Essential cookies (always active)
These cookies are necessary for the Site to operate and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as setting privacy preferences or submitting a form. Essential cookies do not store personally identifiable profile information for marketing. Examples include:
- ccl_cookie_consent — stores your cookie banner choice (accept, reject or customised preferences) for up to six months so we do not ask repeatedly.
- Session and security cookies — support load balancing, CSRF protection where implemented and basic session continuity during form completion.
Because essential cookies are required for service delivery, they do not require consent under common Canadian interpretations, though we still disclose them transparently.
Analytics cookies (optional — requires consent)
If you click "Accept all" or enable analytics in "Customise," we may set cookies that help us understand aggregate traffic — pages visited, referral sources, approximate geography and device type. Analytics data is used to improve Site structure and content, not to build cross-site advertising profiles. Analytics cookies remain disabled until you opt in through the banner.
Marketing cookies (optional — requires consent)
If enabled, marketing cookies may measure whether visitors arrived from a campaign link or support retargeting pixels on third-party platforms. We use this category sparingly and only after explicit consent. Rejecting marketing cookies does not affect Site functionality.
3. Cookie banner and consent management
On your first visit, a banner at the bottom of the Site explains cookie use and offers three actions:
- Accept all — enables essential, analytics and marketing cookies;
- Reject all — enables essential cookies only;
- Customise — lets you toggle analytics and marketing independently before saving.
Your selection is stored in the ccl_cookie_consent first-party cookie for approximately six months, after which the banner may reappear so you can refresh your choice. You may change preferences at any time by clearing Site cookies in your browser and reloading the page, or by contacting us.
This approach aligns with consent requirements under PIPEDA and BC PIPA for non-essential tracking that involves personal information such as IP address or device identifiers.
4. First-party and third-party cookies
First-party cookies are set by cognicircuit.life. Third-party cookies, if any are enabled after consent, are set by analytics or advertising providers whose domains appear in your browser's cookie list. We require vendors to process data under contractual terms consistent with our Privacy Policy.
5. Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through settings. Blocking all cookies may prevent preference storage and could affect form or navigation behaviour. Consult your browser's help documentation for instructions. Mobile device operating systems may offer additional advertising identifiers controls.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. There is no uniform industry standard for responding to DNT. We treat explicit cookie banner choices as the authoritative expression of your preference for this Site.
7. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove technologies or when law changes. The effective date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected on this page; continued use after posting constitutes notice where permitted.
